Good Food = Happy People , happy slo!
By Brenda Garcia
What would such a beautiful city like San Luis be without good food? Probably not quite as great.
San Luis Obispo was featured in Oprah as the happiest city to live in America, and how can we not? We are very lucky to live in a town with a variety of different places to satisfy every taste.
Unlike other towns and cities in the country, San Luis Obispo is very special because of its ‘SLO-w’ dining scene; meaning you won't find any drive thru restaurants at all but instead you will come across the wonderful comfort food, with locally sourced ingredients, yet fun and kind servers, and some of the very best eye-catching locations.
San Luis Obispo counts with all kinds of delicious eating establishments from Mexican Restaurants; such as Tacos de Acapulco and Taqueria Santa Cruz, to sushi places like Naked Fish and Sushiya, to sandwich shops such as; High Street Deli, and Italian food such as Bouna Tavola or Palazzo Giuseppe.
Although this town is fill with great places to eat, when asked what were some of the best places to go when visiting the city, all SLO-cals put the three places below in their top five places to eat at.
EUREKA BURGER:
Eureka! You have found it. This small chain (10 outlets in California and one in Seattle) specializes in converting tired, old spaces into hip, upscale joints.
Although Eureka prides itself on its whiskey selection, the secrets are the local beers and fabulous tasting burgers.
1141 Chorro St., San Luis Obispo; (805) 903-1141.
